
The Kyoto Okazaki Music Festival 2017 OKAZAKI LOOPS will be held on June 10th and 11th at the ROHM Theatre Kyoto and the Okazaki area in Okazaki, Kyoto. General ticket sales will begin at 10:00 AM on March 25th.
The music festival will be held for the second time, following its launch in 2016, in the Okazaki area, one of Kyoto's cultural zones, which is centered around the ROHM Theatre Kyoto and includes Heian Shrine, theaters, art museums, parks, a zoo, and the Lake Biwa Canal. This year's festival will once again combine a variety of genres, including literature, media, art, and theater, in addition to music, and will feature live performances, talk events, and exhibitions. On June 10th, the "Takagi Masakatsu Orchestra Concert with Junichi Hirokami x Kyoto Symphony Orchestra" (¥6,500 general admission/¥7,000 on the day, ¥4,000 for those under 25) will be held at the ROHM Theatre Kyoto Main Hall from 2:30 PM, featuring film music composed by Takagi Masakatsu, a Kyoto-born musician who made a strong presence at the inaugural festival, performed by piano (Takagi) and orchestra (conductor Junichi Hirokami, orchestrator: Kyoto Symphony Orchestra). Also, from 5:30 PM on the same day, the "Shibusa Shirazu Orchestra" (¥4,000 general admission/¥4,500 on the day, ¥3,000 for those under 25), a group formed by Shibusa Shirazu and about 30 musicians and dancers, will perform in the South Hall.
