Hiroshima furniture manufacturer Maruni Wood Industry will open a directly managed store on April 28th at Hiroshima T-SITE, located within LECT, a large commercial facility (2-1-45 Ogi, Nishi-ku, Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture) opening in the western part of Hiroshima City.
Maruni Wood Industry is a long-established furniture manufacturer founded in 1928. Since its founding, designers and craftsmen have worked closely together under the motto of "industrializing craftsmanship," and the company continues to create exquisite wooden furniture that combines timeless design with durability to be loved as a "staple in everyday life" even 100 years from now.
In recent years, under the slogan "furniture from Japan to the world," the company has collaborated with renowned designers active both in Japan and overseas, and in 2008 launched the "Maruni Collection," designed by product designer Naoto Fukasawa. In 2011, London-born Jasper Morrison joined the company, and the collection has grown to now be sold in 27 countries around the world, including the US, UK, Germany, and France.
The newly opened shop will be the manufacturer's first directly-operated store in Hiroshima, the company's hometown. It will mainly carry the Maruni Collection, including the "HIROSHIMA" series, which features an appealing simple design that makes use of the natural wood grain, and will also stock not only furniture, but also interior items and household tools that will enrich your life.
