A collaborative exhibition between an architect and furniture craftsman. Furniture created by Yoshifumi Nakamura and his three "partners."

Dec 12, 2016

"Yoshifumi Nakamura x Koji Yokoyama, Tadahiko Okuda, Tomoyuki Kanazawa: Architect x Furniture Craftsman Collaboration Exhibition at the A4" will be held at Gallery A-Quad in Tokyo's Koto Ward from December 14th to February 25th, 2017. While architect Yoshifumi Nakamura has been working on residential design for many years, he has also worked closely with furniture craftsmen to create numerous attractive pieces of residential furniture. This collaborative exhibition is a traveling version of the much-anticipated exhibition held at the Takenaka Carpentry Tools Museum in Kobe in the fall of 2015, which closed to much acclaim. The exhibition will feature a variety of residential furniture pieces created in collaboration with three furniture craftsmen whom Yoshifumi Nakamura calls his "partners" and has complete trust in: Koji Yokoyama, Tadahiko Okuda, and Tomoyuki Kanazawa. The exhibition is packed with content, including documentary footage of the production process and a glimpse of the furniture craftsmen's favorite tools.
