On March 31, Create Restaurants Holdings opened "THE COUNTER Roppongi" on the basement floor of Tokyo Midtown Galleria. This is the first Japanese location of "THE COUNTER," a custom hamburger restaurant chain with 42 locations worldwide, primarily in the United States.
A preview was held for the press on the 30th, the day before, where the restaurant's menu was announced, including a Japan-exclusive mahi-mahi patty and yuzu and matcha shakes. Founder and CEO Jeff Weinstein also visited Japan and gave a demonstration of how he personally creates and serves a custom burger.
"THE COUNTER" is a custom hamburger restaurant where customers can enjoy over one million customizations. Customers can create their own hamburger by selecting from eight options on the order sheet, including patty and bun type and size, cheese type, sauce, aioli, dressing, topping combination, additional toppings, side dishes, and whether they want it burger-style or salad-style. The restaurant offers a wide selection of Los Angeles favorites, including the classic "The Counter Burger" (1,390 yen); the "Sprout Veggie" (1,190 yen), a vegetable burger popular among women in the United States; the "Minis" (1,240 yen), a small size perfect for women, children, or sharing with multiple people; and the "Sonoma Bowl" (1,440 yen), a salad bowl filled with plenty of vegetables. Also available exclusively at the Roppongi location is a premium patty made with white fish known as mahi-mahi in Hawaii. It can be enjoyed not only as a hamburger but also as a salad. A custom shake (990 yen, plus an additional 50 yen for each additional flavor) allows you to choose from three flavors, including apple pie, marshmallow, and chocolate chip, as well as yuzu and matcha, a Japan-exclusive flavor. An alcoholic "Adult Shake" is also available.
