The third installment of Isetan Shinjuku's special exhibition "Knots and Fragments," a collaboration between mina perhonen and Hiroshima furniture manufacturer Maruni Wood Industry, is the "Barabara Lovers. MARUNI COLLECTION with mina perhonen," which will run from November 9th to 15th at The Stage on the first floor of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku.

The "Knots and Fragments" special project, which was held at Isetan Shinjuku in 2013 and 2015, rediscovered distinctive wood grain and offcuts that had previously been largely ignored in a mass-produced society that demands uniform finishes. Recognizing these materials as possessing "unique beauty," the exhibition presented special items that combined the knotty seat of the "HIROSHIMA" armchair with a seat decorated with mina perhonen patchwork. This third installment includes the "HIROSHIMA" armchair, produced by Akira Minagawa, in oak, and the "Fushi to Kakera" (Fushi and Fragments) collection in walnut. The "Fushi to Kakera Color Version" is available in five colors: blue, light green, moss green, gray, and brown. The new "Akira Minagawa for Kvadrat" textile collection, unveiled by Danish textile brand Kvadrat at this year's Milan Salone, is patchworked onto the "Roundish" sofa, designed by Naoto Fukasawa. The title of this collection, "Barabara Lovers," reflects Akira Minagawa's belief that "the coming together of various different elements creates something that we become attached to. Fragments are our own lovable individuality. Adding one beloved item to our lives brings richness, and an interior filled with beloved objects will reflect the individual personalities of the people living there, enriching and enriching our daily lives." The mina perhonen fragments are patchwork pieces with a rose flower motif, inspired by "Barabara."
