Jenny Fax presented its Fall/Winter 2017-18 collection at the Ikebukuro Parco Main Building on March 26th. This season's collection was inspired by "America in the 1950s and 1960s" (Xue Zhenfan). As the rain that had been falling until the rehearsal subsided, the show took to the rooftop of the Ikebukuro Parco Main Building, showcasing designs and styling that reconstructed a mix of 1950s and 1960s America and Tokyo. Oversized men's-inspired pantsuits, shirts, and bra tops, metallic minidresses and miniskirts evocative of 1960s futurism by Pierre Cardin and others, low-waisted coats with flared hems, and prints of girls from that era. There were also designs that added a robotic or android vibe, and combinations of suits and vinyl with graffiti patterns. The collection also featured modern combinations of different materials, layering, contrasting moods like ballerina skirts, and prints featuring cute Harajuku motifs.
Also eye-catching were young girl models who looked like JS (elementary school girl) or JC (junior high school girl), such as a model in an animal print mini dress and a Gothic Lolita-style model holding a bag with lots of dolls attached.
A remix style that transcends ages and countries, with Barbie dolls, Lolita, and street style. With older women enjoying fashion becoming a hot topic and vintage-style designs also attracting attention, this collection could be asked, what if a girl from that time had traveled back in time and come to Tokyo?
