Mikio Sakabe presented his 2013 Spring/Summer collection at the Shibuya Fashion Festival. It was a collaboration with the twin-drum idol group Band Ja Nai Mon!, and was presented in the form of a live concert. Designer Mikio Sakabe explained, "I wanted to propose a new image of masculinity," and the collection combined boyish styles like shorts and buttoned shirts with girlish tastes like long skirts and gowns made of lace and tulle, and knee-length pleated skirts. The collection featured a soft overall look, with a color palette of pale pink, light blue, and yellow, and jackets with round collars and covered buttons. The costumes for both artists were also designed by Mikio Sakabe. The show featured models engrossed in reading manga magazines, completely ignoring the high-energy live music, creating a contrast. Band Ja Nai Mon! is an "idol project" by Misako and Katchan, the drummers of Shinsei Kamattechan. They made their major label debut with a mini-album in October 2012. The album was also a hot topic as it was produced by Kenichi Maeyamada (Hyadain), who is known for writing songs for Momoiro Clover Z. As this show was included in the live schedule, it was crowded with many spectators, including the girls' fans.
