Nov 4, 2013

On November 1st, Tokyo Style opened the first street-level store for Oui, Ayano Ruban, a brand creatively directed by Ayano Fukuoji, in Harajuku, Tokyo (located at 6-2-6 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo). The approximately 133m² interior of the store is inspired by Le Petit Trianon, a villa at the Palace of Versailles where Marie Antoinette entertained friends and enjoyed tea and music. A central table and Rococo-style chairs are located, along with a VP space suitable for talk shows and a curtained VIP space. The brand's signature design is the ribbon. Items include a ribbon-shaped clutch bag (9,975 yen), a cardigan with ribbons sewn all over the front (14,700 yen), and a coat with ribbons at the hem (49,350 yen). Additionally, some of the purchased items will include jewelry in collaboration with MANOUSH and jewelry brand AHKAH.
Oui, Ayano Ruban was launched this season. An unveiling event was held in August, and sales began online. A pop-up store will be open on the second floor of Isetan Shinjuku from December 11th to 17th. The brand plans to continue setting up limited-time stores in the future.
Ayano Fukuoji was born on October 31st, 1981. Her grandfather was Fukuoji Horin, a recipient of the Order of Culture; her father is Japanese painter Fukuoji Kazuhiko; and her mother is Fukuoji Akemi, who founded AHKAH. On October 19th, she married former Johnny's Jr. member Uotani Teruaki at Tokyo Disneyland.
