Means While, winner of the 2019 TOKYO FASHION AWARD, was forced to cancel its debut show, which was scheduled for March, due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. On October 14th, Means While presented its 2020 Spring/Summer collection at Shibuya Hikarie.

Meanswhile has already been purchased by famous international select shops such as Italy's Slam Jam and Hong Kong's Lane Crawford, and has released collaborative models of pants and shoes with Dickies and Danner. They have also been selected for a collaboration between Nike and Hypebeast, garnering attention not only in Japan but also in the global market. Their long-awaited collection, with a total of 56 looks, is so impressive that it seems a bit presumptuous to call it a debut collection.

This season's collection, which inherits and reconstructs the theme of the 2020 Fall/Winter season, which was scheduled to be released in March, features items that are designed to be suitable for a variety of occasions thanks to their detachable parts such as sleeves, bodice, and collar, and the entire collection is created from the unexpected elements that arise when the items are reassembled.

In the past few seasons, elements and materials from outdoor, sports, workwear, and military styles have been at the core of menswear trends, and with a product design approach, fashion has been reconstructed based on functionality, including bags, shoes, and accessories. By bridging parts with zippers to create different sizes, and adding military details to masks, the styling adds a touch of excitement, fully expressing the brand's identity as a piece that can be enjoyed by people of all ages.
While the hip-hop scene has become mainstream, this collection also evokes a new "mainstream" of men's fashion, linking it to the era in which Pitchfork and Vaporwave music were born.
