A one-day event where you can taste HIGASHIYA Japanese confectioner's fresh morning sweets "Mugimochi"

Jun 2, 2017

"Higashiya Ginza's Solar Year Mochi," created by the Japanese confectioners at HIGASHIYA, will be held on June 4th at HIGASHIYA Ginza (2nd floor, Pola Ginza Building, 1-7-7 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo).

This event, held by HIGASHIYA, is based on the 24 solar terms of the calendar, which have been cultivated through the rich sensibilities of the Japanese people, and allows people to enjoy the deliciousness of freshly made morning sweets. This year marks the barley harvest season, known as "Manju," and a limited number of "barley mochi" (270 yen each, tax included / 1,000 yen for 4 pieces in a wooden box, tax included) will be available from noon to 3:00 pm on the day. The mochi is made from gyuhi rice cakes kneaded with fragrant roasted barley from Kagawa Prefecture and filled with bean paste made from brown sugar from Amami Oshima.
