HIGASHIYA will be releasing "Domyoji-kan" made with sweet oranges for a limited time, with stylish limited edition packaging.

May 19, 2017

Japanese confectionery shop HIGASHIYA will be selling a seasonal Japanese confectionery using amanatsu oranges, "Amanatsu Domyojikan," from June 6th.

Domyojikan is a summer unbaked confectionery made by dissolving and solidifying Domyoji flour, made from glutinous rice, in a clear, kingyokukan bean paste. It is also called "mizorekan" (sleet bean paste) because the sprinkled Domyoji flour resembles sleet.
This time, HIGASHIYA is offering "Amanatsu Domyojikan" (1 stick for 1,800 yen), a refreshing flavor made by combining candied amanatsu skins, which are in season, with Domyoji flour and agar. In addition to the refreshing aroma that evokes the season, you can enjoy the slightly bitter and moderately sweet taste of the amanatsu oranges that spreads throughout your mouth. Chilling it further enhances the flavor and rich texture of the amanatsu oranges, and further enhances the smoothness of the agar. The stylish limited edition packaging featuring sweet orange berries also makes it the perfect gift.

The sales period is scheduled to run from June 6th to late August. It will be available at HIGASHIYA GINZA, HIGASHIYA man and the HIGASHIYA online shop (http://www.higashiya.com).
