Fire King mug collection featuring early PEANUTS comic art now available

To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the comic "PEANUTS," created by Charles M. Schulz, Hikidashi Co., Ltd. will be releasing Peanuts 70th Anniversary products by Fire-King, the American glassware brand. The Fire-King Mug Collection is themed around Charlie Brown and Snoopy's "firsts."

Fire-King is a tableware brand founded in 1941 by Anchor Hocking Corporation, a pioneering manufacturer of heat-resistant glass tableware based in Lancaster, Ohio, USA. Beloved and enduringly popular in the United States, Fire-King milk glassware ceased production in the United States in 1986. However, over the years, production continues in Japan, using techniques passed down through the skilled techniques of Japanese glass artisans. To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the hit American comic, "PEANUTS," Fire-King is releasing four stacking mugs. To commemorate the 70th anniversary of PEANUTS, the mugs feature artwork from the early comic strips that ran from 1950 to 1952, based on the theme of Charlie Brown and Snoopy's "firsts." The set also includes an original Fire-King PEANUTS tenugui dishcloth. "MAN'S BEST FRIEND" These special stacking mugs in Jedi colors feature art from the comic strip celebrating the special day when Charlie Brown and Snoopy first appear together.

Also, this time, the lineup includes a Peanuts 70th anniversary model of the Fire-King leather coaster, made by leather brand OJAGA DESIGN. To celebrate 70 years of Peanuts, the 70 YEARS logo, featuring Charlie Brown and Snoopy, has been laser engraved onto the two round leather colors, yellow and jade green.

The back of the coaster is made of beige suede, which prevents it from slipping on the table and allows the mug to be placed stably. OJAGA DESIGN is committed to quality, with every step from dyeing the leather to cutting and hand-stitching at their factory in Japan. These carefully crafted leather coasters become more comfortable and develop a unique texture the more you use them.
