T6M, a select shop selling lifestyle goods and a flagship store for THE DAUGHTERS, a sneaker brand created by Yoichiro Kitadate, a shoe director who has been involved in projects such as Nike's Air Jordan and Reebok's Pump Fury and was named one of the "50 people who have influenced sneaker culture around the world," and Noritaka Tatehana, artist behind NORITAKA TAKEHANA, a shoe brand favored by Lady Gaga, has opened in Ebisu, Tokyo. Located at 1-20-3 Ebisu Minami, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, T6M offers a wide selection of lifestyle goods and shoes, clothing, accessories, food, interior goods, and other items related to the everyday necessities of life, based on the concept of "BREATH TO COMFORTABLE LIFE." The store's shoes are primarily from The Daughters, which launched in Spring/Summer 2013, while its clothing lineup includes brands like GANRYU, a men's brand from Comme des Garçons, and ISAORA, a New York-based snowboarding brand. The store plans to offer women's items in the future. Other items on offer include organic soup from the Netherlands, Italian olive oil, and socks from The Tastemakers & Co. The store's attached art space, Pocket, is curated by Tatehana. Every three months, works by artists selected by Tatehana are exhibited and sold. Currently, the store is showcasing art posters by Yoshitaro Yamazaki and Nobuaki Kato, who created illustrations for The Daughters. Each poster is designed exclusively for Pocket and is limited to 50 copies, each with a serial number. There are eight designs, all priced at ¥18,900. "In Japan, there isn't much of a sense of paying for art, so we want people to come and experience art here and become familiar with it," said Fumihiro Iki, head of the sales department at The Sixth Man LLC, which operates the store.
Iki adds, "By changing the products we carry for set periods, such as focusing on apparel at certain times and food at other times, we hope to offer a variety of suggestions to our customers."
