Mitsukoshi Isetan has announced its 2014 New Year's lucky bags at its Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi Main Store, Mitsukoshi Ginza Store, and Isetan Shinjuku Main Store. The theme of Mitsukoshi Isetan's lucky bags is "Enjoying the Classic." The New Year, welcoming the new year, is a time when everyone feels strong feelings about family ties and the reflection of Japan. The lucky bags will include items that deepen family ties, items that rediscover the best of Japan, and items filled with dreams. As a special New Year's promotion, the three stores are jointly offering a special "Become the Godmother of a Rose Debuting in 2014" (one per store, 2,014 yen including tax). The "Dream Bag" offers the chance to become the godmother of a new rose created by leading Japanese rose breeder Kiyoshi Imai, and a bouquet of roses will be delivered four times a year. Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi Main Store will offer 60 items in 12 different categories, Mitsukoshi Ginza Store will offer 8 items in 6 different categories, and Isetan Shinjuku Store will offer approximately 30 items in 8 different categories. Applications will be accepted from December 26th to January 3rd, with the lottery held after January 4th.
Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi Main Store is proposing lucky bags that embody culture and communication under the theme of "Learn, Enjoy, Taste." The recommended "Dream Bag" is the "Nihonbashi University Town Tour" (limited to 6 groups/12,000 yen including tax). You'll ride a rickshaw around the Nihonbashi area and visit long-established shops founded in the Edo period. You'll also be guided by Haruki Kawasaki, president of the Nihonbashi Tour Association. Other lucky bags include a tour of JAXA, a one-year lease on a farmhouse in Minami Boso, and a mobile sushi chef service where you can have sushi made at your home. Also available is the "K24 Mt. Fuji (Miho no Matsubara)" (one item only, ¥2.23 million), commemorating Mt. Fuji's inscription as a World Heritage Site. The Mitsukoshi Ginza store's theme is "experience." They're offering lucky bags that allow you to make your dreams come true through experiences like eating, touching, and making things. The "Luxurious Wine 14 Bottles and Special Dinner Set" (limited to two people per group, ¥1.5 million, tax included) includes five 2010 vintage bottles from the top five chateaux, a special dinner at a Ginza restaurant, and a souvenir gift. The "Tsukiji Sushiiwa" nigiri sushi delivery service (limited to three groups, ¥42,000, tax included) is a dream bag offering a blissful dining experience. Other attractive lucky bags include the "12-Year-Old Balsamic Vinegar" (one item only, ¥210,000, tax included), where you can consult with a vinegar sourire to create your desired flavor. Other experiences include making Japanese sweets and dyeing rolls of fabric, allowing you to witness the process of creating the product. The theme of Isetan Shinjuku Main Store is "emotion." They've prepared lucky bags that will help you realize your dreams and create new emotions. The "Shinjuku Alta Vision Message Project" (limited to three people/¥20,140 including tax) was a huge hit last year, allowing you to surprise your girlfriend with a proposal or send congratulatory messages to family and coworkers on Shinjuku Alta's full high-definition screen. The "Daiwa House "Zevo" Documentary Movie" (limited to one person/¥100 million including tax) is a dream home project featuring a documentary-style video of a newly built detached home and its construction. They also offer a cooking lesson with Chef Masahiro Kasahara, owner of the ever-bookable restaurant "Sanbyoron." Mitsukoshi Isetan's lucky bag sales were strong in 2013, up 110% from the previous year. Can we expect even greater sales growth in 2014 thanks to the effects of Abenomics?
