
UN GRAIN, a patisserie specializing in pinch-sized mignardises, released new sweets on November 1st. The three new desserts announced this time are perfect with coffee or tea, as well as champagne and red wine. "Pain d'Epice" (420 yen, tax included), a spiced chocolate cake inspired by the Marché de Noël (Christmas market), a winter tradition in France, is mixed with orange confit and topped with dried fruit stewed in mulled wine. "Fig Cassis" (470 yen, tax included), a blonde chocolate mousse with the pleasant tartness of blackcurrant and the crunchy texture of figs stewed in red wine, is accented with the aroma of cinnamon. "Macaron Opera" (470 yen, tax included), a fusion of macaron dough and the traditional French pastry "Opera," is a dessert.
Also, assortment of baked goods "Assortiment Premier" (4,300 yen including tax) is being released as a reservation-only item available only to Un Grand members, making it the perfect gift for the New Year holidays. The name "Premier" means "first" in French, and was chosen to commemorate Un Grand's "first" assortment. It consists of 12 varieties in total, including 6 popular varieties and 6 new varieties that are only included in this assortment, and the aroma and flavor are locked in by baking each one individually after the order is placed.
