The Isetan Shinjuku Main Building's B1 Food Section is hosting a Halloween fair until October 31st. From sweets and bread to Japanese confectionery and fresh produce, there's a wide selection of Halloween-themed gourmet items featuring jack-o'-lanterns and ghosts. Their fun designs make them perfect gifts and souvenirs, sure to warm the recipient's heart. Enjoy the flavors of autumn with a variety of Halloween-themed treats! "This year's Halloween treats are popular for party-themed treats that everyone can enjoy. Many young women buy them as gifts for girls' nights because of their cute appearance," says a staff member. Noix de Beurre's "Halloween Cookies" (5 pieces/900 yen) are especially delicious, especially the white ghosts with lemon icing. Kyoto's Tawaraya Yoshitomi's "Molasses Bonbon Happy Halloween" (15 pieces/900 yen) are a tea snack with molasses inside that melts in your mouth. How about giving some sweet treats to your friends? Berry Ochado Shimokita's "Halloween Salt" (7 varieties, 50g each, 835 yen each) is a hugely popular gift-ready version of the popular salt. The colorful salt, dyed with vegetable and fruit pigments, recreates mummies and bats. Display it as interior décor and you'll be the center of attention! Compartes Chocolatier's "Skull Stick Royal Milk Tea" (Isetan Shinjuku exclusive, 600 yen per stick) is a milk tea-flavored chocolate with a realistic skull, perfect for adults. It makes a great gift, or as a treat for yourself. Junoesque Bagel's "Halloween Bagel Anpan" (purple sweet potato, pumpkin, 220 yen each) is a Halloween-themed anpan with rich bean paste wrapped in chewy bagel dough. Chez Double's "Pistachio & Chocolat" (Isetan Shinjuku store exclusive / 50g / 1,400 yen) is a flavored tea that lets you enjoy the marriage of pistachio and chocolate. It's also fun to watch the star-shaped chocolate melt in the teapot. Deli & Boulangerie Andersen has released "Ghost Bread" (200 yen) filled with custard cream, "Black Cat Chocolate Cream Bread" (220 yen) with chocolate custard in cocoa cookie dough, and "Halloween Bat" (220 yen) with pumpkin-flavored custard cream in cocoa cookie dough. Their cute appearances make them perfect as gifts.
The staff's recommendations are the Halloween-only "Eclair Chocolat" (547 yen each) from Patisserie Sadaharu Aoki Paris, It's Sandwich Magic's "Temari Sandbox (Halloween)" (1,500 yen for a set of 9), which is the perfect size for finger food, and "Halloween Salt." There will also be a full selection of non-sweets items, including Halloween-themed hamburgers.
