Reservations are now open for Christmas-only cakes by Gontran Cherrier, a nationally popular baker in France

Nov 17, 2016

Gontran Cherrier, a boulangerie by Gontran Cherrier, a nationally renowned French baker, will begin accepting pre-orders for its Christmas cakes in early December. Gontran Cherrier offers "breads brimming with tradition and innovation," fusing authentic Parisian bread with uniquely Japanese ingredients. Currently, the bakery has four locations in Tokyo, one each in Sendai, Fukuoka, and Nagoya. The 2016 Christmas cake (4,000 yen including tax) features pamplemousse, the French word for grapefruit, and is a sweet treat with the tartness and bitterness of citrus fruits. The vibrant pink pamplemousse pastry, made with saugers and seeds, is soaked in a grapefruit, lime, and Campari syrup. Finally, it's topped with light whipped cream and grapefruit jelly for a refreshing and elegant taste. The pre-order period runs from early December until December 24th, and the sale period runs from December 23rd to 25th. The stores where the product will be sold are Shinjuku Southern Terrace, Nihonbashi, Sendai, Fukuoka Parco, and JR Nagoya Takashimaya.
