
Grand Hyatt Tokyo began accepting pre-orders for 13 types of Christmas cakes, including three new cakes, on October 15th. Delivery will run from December 18th to 25th. Starting in November, the store will also begin selling Christmas bread and hampers. This year, a new version of the ever-popular "Mosaic Cake," a mosaic-patterned cake made up of colorful 3cm square cakes, will be released. In addition to last year's popular "Mosaic Cake" (12cm x 12cm, ¥5,500), the new "Mosaic Cake 'Bruno'" (9cm x 24cm, ¥9,000) will be available in chic shades of chocolate and caramel brown. Other new additions to the lineup include "Preghiera" (¥4,200), a chocolate-coated pear and coffee gateau au chocolat, and "Mont Blanc" (¥4,000), a hazelnut meringue topped with sponge cake, bavarois, and a generous amount of marron cream with chopped chestnuts.
Other items include the "Profiteroles" (15cm x 15cm, 7,500 yen), a strawberry shortcake topped with 25 colorful mini cream puffs, making a striking impression. The "Berry Pudding" (4,200 yen), made with a dough soaked in cassis syrup, red wine, and berry syrup and surrounded by berry filling and crème brûlée, is a dessert that lets you enjoy both sour and sweet flavors. The lineup also includes the "Strawberry Shortcake" (12cm, 4,600 yen / 15cm, 6,500 yen), made with sponge cake and whipped cream and generous amounts of strawberries, and the "Chantilly Chocolat" (12cm, 4,600 yen / 15cm, 6,500 yen), a sponge cake filled with rich chocolate cream.
From November 1st, Christmas breads such as "Panettone" (S size 1,300 yen / M size 1,300 yen), which is made with plenty of dried fruit and has a refreshingly tart taste, and "Stollen" (S size 1,450 yen / M size 2,600 yen), which has dried fruit and nuts that have been soaked in rum for three months kneaded into the dough, will also be on sale.
In addition, from November 15th, the "Christmas Charity Hamper (with ornament)" (30,000 yen) will be on sale, with the aim of supporting the independence of people with disabilities and creating jobs. The hamper is filled with sweets, champagne, dried sausages, and grissini, and comes with an original Christmas ornament made by people with disabilities. Other hamburgers on offer include the "Small Hamburger" (6,000 yen), which contains a stollen and an assortment of sweets, the "Medium Hamburger" (9,000 yen), which contains champagne, dried sausages, and cookies, and the "Large Hamburger" (10,000 yen), which contains 10 kinds of white Christmas sweets. Also on sale are Christmas tin gift sets (from 2,000 yen) filled with various Christmas sweets, and Christmas cookies (from 800 yen).
