Pixel-based jewelry brand "Archel" arrives in Japan

Mar 4, 2014

French jewelry brand HIRSCHELL has made its debut in Japan. It will be available at the concept shop LAILA TOKIO (2nd floor, 1-5-11 Shibuya, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo).
The jewelry created by Paris-based designer Hannah Baise is characterized by its "pixel design." The idea was born from the overlapping of the lines and small light bulbs of electronic circuit boards found in computers and other devices with the view of the city from above. The vibrantly colored jewelry is completed after repeatedly combining and disassembling pixels. Inspired by Art Deco, optical art, and kinetic art, each piece is handmade by the designer himself. Prices are 56,000 yen for the large bracelet and 51,000 yen for the small bracelet.
Hannah Baise was born in France in 1986. Influenced by his father, who was an artist, he was influenced by various artworks from a young age. He majored in art in high school, and then studied contemporary art, architecture, graphics, and fashion at the École Duperré art school in Paris. His graduation project, which linked electronic circuit boards with the cityscape, was highly praised, and in 2009 he was in charge of the Christmas display at Galeries Lafayette, Europe's largest department store. He started the brand in 2010. In addition to his work as a designer, he is also active as an artist, creating art installations and objects.
