LAILA VINTAGE, a vintage shop in Omotesando that opened a new store in Shibuya on the 27th, has opened a showroom in Daikanyama, Tokyo called "LAILA ATELIER" (2nd floor, Daikanyama Heim, 1-5 Sarugaku-cho, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo), displaying its archives. It will open to stylists from August and to the general public from September. The store is filled with precious items collected by Director Hashiura, including women's and men's wear, bags, and shoes. The women's collection features brands that have made their mark in the history of fashion, including Yves Saint Laurent, Mugler, Claude Montana, Alaia, Chanel, Celine, Hermès, Kenzo, and Kansai. The men's section features items coveted by fashion enthusiasts, including John Galliano from the 1980s with tags reading "MADE IN BRITAIN" or "LONDON," pieces by Stephen Sprouse, the legendary designer who traversed the boundaries of art, music, and fashion, and leather goods from the East & West leather brand. Hashiura also mentions army gear from about 100 years ago, making them a must-have for any fashion enthusiast. "This East & West silver leather jacket belongs to Vincent Gallo. Nicolas Ghesquière looked at Sprouse so much he wore it out," he says. Only a portion of the items are on display here. As the store operates in conjunction with the other shops, the items are constantly being replaced. "The interesting thing about vintage items is that they become new again in due time. We still have a lot of items we're preserving. We're currently collecting items from a certain brand, and we're planning to hold an archive exhibition in the near future," he says. Items are also available for purchase. Hours are 11:30 AM to 8 PM. The store is open on irregular days.
