With the full cooperation of the Museum of Modern Art in New York (MoMA), UNIQLO is launching a new project, "SPRZ NY" (a portmanteau of "SURPRISE NY"), which aims to present art that will astonish and shock the world and to challenge innovative product planning. UNIQLO and MoMA have been running "UNIQLO Free Friday Night" since May 2013, offering free admission every Friday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. This time, the second floor of the global flagship Fifth Avenue store has been completely renovated with the concept of "a place where clothing and art intersect." The SPRZ NY store, offering innovative products, will open on March 28th, and Starbucks will open its first ever store inside a UNIQLO store. The first product lineup features works by eight artists, including Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Jack Pierson, Jackson Pollock, Lawrence Weiner, Ryan McGinness, and Sarah Morris. Special edition merchandise featuring selected works curated by MoMA will also be available. The wide range of merchandise, including T-shirts, outerwear, innerwear, and merchandise, will be available in stores in New York and around the world on the 28th. Additionally, UNIQLO USA will be launching the "SPRZ NY LUCKY UNIQLO LINE," a New York City-themed line. This online virtual queue entertainment experience allows users to join in using their Twitter or Facebook IDs. It is also available in Japan, Taiwan, China, and South Korea. Approximately 5,000 participants will receive gifts, including a special guided tour of MoMA after closing time, a Starbucks capsule coffee maker, and a shopping coupon for SPRZ NY.
