Francfranc, an interior goods shop, is releasing a collaboration with pop artist Jean-Michel Basquiat. The collection features vibrantly colored items, including tableware like mugs and plates, fabrics like cushion covers and blankets, and fashion items like book covers and card cases, all featuring Basquiat's dinosaur and crown motifs. The collection will be released sequentially starting next month on the 12th. Francfranc has previously collaborated with pop art artist Andy Warhol and top New York creative agency Jed Root, Inc. Basquiat, whose father was from Haiti and mother from Puerto Rico, was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1960. He began spray painting on subway trains and slum walls while in high school. After dropping out of high school, he made a living selling T-shirts and postcards in front of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and other institutions, but his work gradually gained recognition and he held a solo exhibition. In 1983, he collaborated with Warhol, whom he met while selling his postcards at a restaurant in Soho. He died at the young age of 27 from a drug overdose. In 2010, the 50th anniversary of Basquiat's birth, the documentary film "Basquiat: The Art of Basquiat" was released, featuring Basquiat at the age of 25.
