FENDI has created coats and accessories for Wes Anderson's latest film, "The Grand Budapest Hotel," due for release in June. The film is a mystery entertainment set in one of Europe's most prestigious hotels. FENDI collaborated with Academy Award-winning costume designer Milena Canonero to create outfits for actors including Edward Norton and Tilda Swinton. FENDI designs include the gray astrakamph military coat worn by Norton's Inspector Henkel, the black mink collar worn by Swinton's Madame D, and the hand-painted details and sleeves of a luxurious Italian silk velvet cape. FENDI has previously designed costumes for Silvana Mangano in Luchino Visconti's "The Family Portrait" and Madonna in Alan Parker's "Evita." "Creating memorable costumes for films made in Italy, Europe and the United States is deeply rooted in Fendi's DNA and history," said Fendi Chairman and CEO Pietro Beccari in a statement.
