Giorgio Armani provided costumes for the film "The Wolf of Wall Street," which opens in Japan on January 31st. This latest film from director Martin Scorsese depicts the turbulent life of stockbroker Jordan Belfort, played by Leonardo DiCaprio. Set on Wall Street in the early 1990s, the film follows Jordan, the "Wolf of Wall Street," as he rises to power with his innovative ideas and eloquent speaking skills. Armani collaborated with Sandy Powell, an Academy Award-winning costume designer whose work includes "Victoria," "The Aviator," and "Shakespeare in Love," to create the costumes. DiCaprio plays Jordan in an Armani look circa 1993. This style is an iconic one of the brand, which Powell praises as having "a major influence on men's fashion at the time."

Also, at the Golden Globe Awards ceremony held in Los Angeles on January 13th, various cast members appeared wearing Armani. DiCaprio, who won Best Actor - Musical or Comedy for this film, wore a classic evening shirt and a two-button tuxedo with notch lapels. Cate Blanchett, who won Best Actress - Drama for "Blue Jasmine," wore a black lace dress by Giorgio Armani Privé.
