IM MEN presents its Fall/Winter 2025/26 collection in Paris

Feb 5, 2025
On January 23rd, IMMEN presented its 2025/26 Fall/Winter collection, "FLY WITH IM MEN," at Le Réfectoire des Cordeliers, a building in Paris's 5th arrondissement that dates back to the early 16th century.

Launched in 2021, IM MEN is a brand that explores the possibilities of manufacturing by capturing Issey Miyake's concept of "a piece of cloth" from the perspective of the male body. The design team, well-versed in both design and engineering, will realize new creative work through the fusion of these two disciplines. The theme of this collection, which will be presented in Paris for the first time, reflects the brand's determination to create products that transcend all boundaries and bring new perspectives and freedom to many people through ideas born from a free spirit.

A large square panel featuring a single piece of cloth will be placed at the venue, appearing to move as if given life. This installation, created by Tokujin Yoshioka, represents a new era born from the dialogue between ISSEY MIYAKE's "single piece of cloth" philosophy and handcraftsmanship and technology.

FLY
In order to bring out the maximum appeal of the light fabric, not even the edges of the fabric, known as "selvage," are cut off, resulting in a series that expresses the natural form of a single piece of fabric as clothing. The coats and jackets can be turned upside down or the button fastening positions can be adjusted to create a variety of shapes and styles. The fabric is an even lighter version of the textile from the "AIR" series, which IM MEN has been using since its first season, which exudes a floating feeling.

FLAT DRAPE
The shirts, blousons, and pants feature generous drape, and when folded, they all become square. When worn, the corners of the squares fold into pleats, creating a graceful shape. The moderate tension and softness of the proprietary, partially plant-derived* polyester further accentuates the silhouette. * Made primarily from sugarcane molasses

WALL
This outerwear series features a three-dimensional form created by placing the inside of the jacket on the outside. The recycled polyester fabric has an elegant luster and a smooth feel, and is thick yet light, soft, and wrinkle-resistant for easy handling. You can transform the rain flap into a hood or change the way the buttons are fastened to create a variety of different looks.

HERON
The fabric used is "Ultrasuede®," a synthetic suede leather made from 100% plant-based* polyester, developed by Toray Industries, Inc., and this marks the world's first time it has been used in clothing. Taking advantage of the material's ability to be cut, a cutting process not normally used in clothing production has been used to create a gradation pattern made up of dots that vary in size in millimeters. This gives the coat, which has a voluminous fabric, a unique and light impression.
* Main ingredients are sugarcane molasses and inedible cornstarch.

SWITCH
A series woven from 100% plant-based nylon fiber made from castor beans and corn. The lightweight fabric used for the liner was produced by Toray Industries, Inc. and was commercialized for the first time in clothing by IM MEN in the Spring/Summer 2024 season. This has now been further developed into a thicker twill fabric, which is also used for the main garment. All liners are removable, and the pant liner can be worn like a vest. The coat and blouson can be styled freely, for example by transforming the rain flap into a hood.

METALLIC ULTRA BOA
Metallic ULTRA BOA has been jointly developed by Toray Industries, Inc., by bonding Ultrasuede®, a partially plant-based* artificial suede leather, with boa, a composite fiber containing recycled wool. The surface is also foil printed, adding an impressive and powerful texture. Three vertical slits are made from the bottom edge of the fabric, zippers are positioned within, and the sleeves are closed with a gentle twist, creating a bold sleeve shape that flares out around the elbow.
* Made primarily from sugarcane molasses

KASURI
This series is a modern take on the traditional "kasuri dyeing" technique, in which a single thread is dyed in different sections to create uneven shades. Three types of cotton yarn of different thicknesses are dyed separately using the chusen dyeing method, and then these yarns are arranged as warp and weft threads and woven on a jacquard loom. The coat has minimal cuts to highlight the beauty of the weave, and has a zipper that runs from the hem to the side. When the zipper is closed, the sleeves and body are shaped in a gentle spiral. It can be worn in two ways: as a coat or a poncho.
