Givenchy's first artist collaboration is with British artist Benjamin Shine

Apr 8, 2013

Givenchy, led by Riccardo Tisci, has announced a collaboration with British artist Benjamin Shine. This marks the brand's first collaboration with an individual artist.

This monochrome, unisex shirt features Shine's unique take on the iconic print motif often used in the Spring/Summer 2013 men's collection. Using a special handmade technique, the Madonna appears to emerge through a single sheet of tulle. The piece is custom-made by Givenchy's Haute Couture Salon.

Shine creates pieces using unique materials such as tulle and silk chiffon. He is also known for his portraits and artwork of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, US President Barack Hussein Obama, Dame Elizabeth Taylor, and Diana, Princess of Wales. He is also active as a designer.
