Ferragamo launches foundation to support youth education

Apr 8, 2013

Salvatore Ferragamo has announced the establishment of the "Fondazione Ferragamo" in Florence, the brand's birthplace, to support and nurture the talent of the future of the fashion industry. The foundation's purpose is to preserve and promote documents and archives related to the creations and achievements of the brand's founder, Salvatore Ferragamo, and to provide opportunities for young people to learn and develop. Plans include collaborations with various organizations to support education and publish publications, the establishment of awards and scholarships, and collaborations with the Ferragamo Museum. Wanda Ferragamo, Salvatore's wife and president of the foundation, is working on this project together with her children. She said, "Young people are like a driving force, a force for continuity and the future. They need opportunities to demonstrate their value and potential. I want them to learn from Salvatore's know-how, creativity, and, above all, his way of life, which always overcame obstacles and sought to move forward."
