Ceramic artist Ryota Aoki's solo exhibition "Possibilities: Pottery Will Remain for 3,000 Years" will be held at Valveat 81 from April 12th to May 12th. Aoki continues to research glazes while holding over 20 solo exhibitions each year, creating innovative works using materials not typically used in ceramics, such as gold, silver, and platinum. "This time, I'll be showcasing a number of new works that you'll never see before," he says, highlighting his first-ever works. Other planned works include "Wall-Hanging Deer," a new piece created by taxidermy of a deer hunted in Karuizawa, creating a mold, pouring clay into the mold, and firing it. Other planned works include buttons created with various glazes, and a major piece that will remain a mystery until the exhibition. Aoki was born in Toyama Prefecture in 1978. Aiming to promote the appeal of ceramics worldwide, he actively participates in solo and group exhibitions overseas, as well as contemporary art fairs. He has collaborated with a variety of industries, including fashion, interior design, and design. He also works to revitalize the ceramics world, holding "Summer Ikeyan★," an annual summer event for aspiring ceramic students and young ceramic artists. Aoki himself will be in attendance from 6 p.m. on April 12th, the first day of the exhibition.
