The world of Christiane Perrochon, ceramics beloved by Lagerfeld

Feb 28, 2013

An exhibition of works by ceramic artist Christiane Perrochon, "ROMANTIC COLOR TABLE - The Beautiful World of Christiane Perrochon," began on February 27th at Global Dining on the 5th floor of the Isetan Shinjuku store. The exhibition runs until March 5th.

Christiane Perrochon is a Swiss-born ceramic artist who studied ceramics at the Ecole des Arts Decoratifs before establishing her studio in 1971. Since 1979, she has maintained an atelier in Tuscany, Italy, where she continues to create today. Her works are characterized by the soft textures created by freehand and on the potter's wheel, and the exquisite beauty of their colors. Their soft colors, delicate shapes, and uniquely individual designs have attracted collectors worldwide, including Karl Lagerfeld, and in Japan, they are beloved by celebrities such as culinary expert Yoko Arimoto.

This exhibition focuses on tableware perfect for teatime. Teacups, teapots, sencha bowls, matcha bowls, and new cake stands are on display. Also at the venue, Western confectionery expert Chie Kato will be creating a teatime table setting using Perrochon tableware. The French tea brand "THE O DOR" and honey from Provence in southern France "Les Ruchers du Bessilon" are also on sale.
