Gucci to host live event to raise funds for women, headlined by Beyoncé

Apr 8, 2013

CHIME FOR CHANGE, a global campaign launched by Gucci in February of this year to support the empowerment of girls and women around the world, will host a concert event, "THE SOUND OF CHANGE LIVE," at London's Twickenham Stadium on June 1st. The headliner will be Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, who also serves as the event's artistic director. "Our goal is to bring about change in the environment for girls and women. We want to strongly appeal to as many people as possible," she said. Other performers include Ellie Goulding, Florence + the Machine, Haim, and Iggy Azalea, as well as many other world-renowned musicians and presenters. The event will be broadcast live on television. In addition to live performances by artists, 10 short films that raise awareness of issues facing girls and women will also be screened and shared with the world.

The costs of hosting the concert are covered by Gucci, and all ticket sales will go to the project's activities, which support the education, health, and justice of girls and women. In a world first, ticket buyers will also be able to choose a non-profit organization of their choice and donate the ticket price to that organization.

Tickets are on sale now on the official CHIME FOR CHANGE website and through Ticketmaster.
