Stencil artist Kansuke Akaike's solo exhibition held in Daikanyama

Apr 2, 2013

Gallery Speak For in Daikanyama will be hosting "Stencil Stories," a solo exhibition by stencil artist Kansuke Akaike, from April 12th. His style, which uses stencils and spray paint, is characterized by a delicate, realistic world that sets him apart from graffiti art. Akaike was born in Kyoto in 1974. While studying at art school, he began researching print media such as silkscreen printing and print collage. He held a solo exhibition at Galeria Deco in São Paulo and the "Stencil Express" exhibition at Laforet Harajuku WALL in 2011. This year, he participated in "Move Six," held at Atelier Movida in Seibu Ikebukuro, and has exhibited his work both in Japan and abroad.
