Full details of the first Log Road Daikanyama opening. Fred Segal's first appearance in Japan, Kirin Beer's new business model

Apr 15, 2015

LOG LOAD DAIKANYAMA, a new symbol of the town, will open on April 17th on the former site of the Toyoko Line in Daikanyama. The address is 1-13 Daikanyama-cho, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo.

Five commercial buildings and a lush promenade will be located on the 220-meter-long former Toyoko Line track. The cottage-like low-rise buildings and a landscape that captures the richness of the four seasons create an urban space. The landscape design was handled by Taichi Saito, president of DAISHIZEN/SOLSO. The promenade will be equipped with numerous benches, aiming to create an environment that encourages people to find their favorite spots and return frequently, making it a part of their lifestyle.

The 1st building facing the road is occupied by Kirin Beer's new business, SPRING VALLEY BREWERY TOKYO. This all-day dining establishment, attached to a brewery (small-scale brewery), serves craft beer brewed on-site. In addition to the "Beer Flight" (926 yen), which allows you to sample all six craft beers offered year-round, the brewery also offers an extensive food menu, including grilled dishes and pasta. In the future, the brewery plans to offer brewery tours and workshops as a base for promoting a new beer culture.

Fred Segal, a lifestyle multi-brand select shop representing the American West Coast, has opened its first store in Japan in buildings 2 to 4. Building 2 houses "THE MARAT AT FRED SEGAL," a food market curated by Fred Segal. Building 3 will house Fred Segal WOMAN, offering high-end women's apparel, cosmetics, and lifestyle goods. Building 4 will house Fred Segal MAN, offering men's apparel ranging from casual to fashionable, as well as hobby and lifestyle goods.

Building 5 will also house Tartine Bakery & Cafe, a popular San Francisco bakery with long lines of customers. The bakery will debut in Japan in May. In addition to its flagship products, country bread and croissants, the bakery will also offer limited-edition items made with original yeast brewed in Japan. Guests can enjoy freshly baked bread throughout the day, and Blue Bottle Coffee will also be available. The open rooftop will have approximately 70 seats, allowing guests to enjoy meals under the open sky, in keeping with the facility's concept. A promotional space has also been set up along the walking path, and at the time of the opening, a shop selling original Log Road goods will be open for a limited time, selling tote bags, T-shirts, mugs, and more.
