To celebrate its 20th anniversary, Marni is holding "Marni Prisma," a project that allows visitors to experience the brand's DNA, in cities around the world. As part of this, the "Marni Blossom Market" is being held in Aoyama, Tokyo, until April 5th. The two-story house-style venue offers workshops where visitors can customize T-shirts and necklaces, as well as sales of archival-print PVC plant buckets, picnic mats, and colorful wire animal sculptures. It's not just a shopping event; it's an event where visitors can experience the essence of the brand. Special Projects Creative Director Carolina Castiglioni (Consuelo Castiglioni's eldest daughter), who visited Japan with designer Consuelo Castiglioni for the event, said, "To commemorate our 20th anniversary, we wanted to do something special that embodies the brand's DNA." Marni Prisma launched in Milan. The first Marni Flower Market took place in a public location under the sun, creating the atmosphere of a real market. "The main reason we chose the pier as the venue for our second city, the Marni Roof Market in Hong Kong, was because of the beautiful light. We created a light fountain-like installation in collaboration with Italian artist Massimo Bartolini. Marni always values collaborations with artists. Here in Tokyo, we also collaborated with people from Fukushima. We sent them archive fabric and had them make straw sandals. Our next event is scheduled for Venice in May," Carolina explains. As she mentioned, the market sold hand-knitted straw sandals made by the "Waraji Gumi" (Waraji Group), a group of people living in temporary housing in Naraha Town, Fukushima, and hand-painted sandals by an Italian outsider artist. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to charity for Tibetan children.
At the opening event, celebrities such as models Hasegawa Jun, Matsuoka Mona, and Mizuhara Yuka, wearing dresses from the brand, appeared and enjoyed the market.
