On April 4th, ISSEY MIYAKE INC. opened a new shop, ISSEY MIYAKE MARUNOUCHI (1F Yusen Building, 2-3-2 Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo), in front of Tokyo Station, the gateway to Tokyo, where customers can experience Miyake Issey's timeless craftsmanship, which is based on the motto "creating something that has never been seen before, for people's lives." The interior of the store, which is decorated in red, is stocked with brands such as HOMME PLISSE ISSEY MIYAKE, 132 5. ISSEY MIYAKE, BAO BAO ISSEY MIYAKE, ISSEY MIYAKE PARFUMS, ISSEY MIYAKE WATCH, and lighting fixtures from IN-EI ISSEY MIYAKE.

The company operates stores such as "REALITY LAB ISSEY MIYAKE" and "ELTTOB TEP ISSEY MIYAKE GINZA" in Tokyo, which showcase the brand's innovative manufacturing, but this store was opened with the aim of showcasing the excellence of Miyake Issey's designs, products and manufacturing in a more understandable way than ever before, and to quickly spread the word both domestically and overseas. While the store does not carry "ISSEY MIYAKE" or "ISSEY MIYAKE MEN," which are presented on the runway in Paris, it does offer a larger selection and higher quality of products from "HOMMES PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE" and "132 5. ISSEY MIYAKE," two of Miyake's current focus lines. In addition to pre-sale items like the striped jacket from "HOMMES PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE," the store also offers limited-edition items featuring the red color. A corner dedicated to ISSEY MIYAKE perfumes is available, and the store also offers unique features, such as a ceramic scent capture experience. The store's design was created by Tokujin Yoshioka. The store's concept of a contrast between history and the future is expressed through textures created over time and a triangular red-dyed aluminum piece that appears to float in the air. Hours are 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
