Fred Segal, which made its Japanese debut with the opening of Log Road Daikanyama, is attracting attention for its food market, "THE MARAT AT FRED SEGAL," a new business model not found in the home country.
The West Coast of the United States, where Fred Segal originated, is renowned as a pioneer of organic and slow food, where diet is an established part of the lifestyle. The Mart, available exclusively in Japan, offers a "food market for adults" that offers casual West Coast-style food, gourmet coffee, and household goods.
The store is located in Building 2 of the facility and offers a selection of original goods sold exclusively in Japan, such as mugs, tote bags, and cutlery, as well as carefully selected ingredients. The Mart, which originated in the United States, is a collaboration with the local Daikanyama surf-style cafe, PORT OF CALL, to offer five flavors of granola.
Even more noteworthy is the opening of Camden's Blue ☆ Donuts, a popular donut shop from Portland, Oregon. This will be the shop's first in Japan, and since opening in 2012, it has been highly praised as a popular shop with long lines, attracting attention from locals and tourists alike. It's also called "adult donuts" due to its unique flavors and large sizes, including seasonal limited menu items, and its plump texture and satisfying volume are cited as its greatest appeal. Popular in the United States are the "Blueberry Bourbon Basil Rings," made with pureed blueberries flavored with fresh basil and bourbon; the "Hard Apple Cider Fritters," made with apples and raisins and flavored with cinnamon and coriander; and the "Cointreau Crème Brûlée," a sweet crispy brûlée topped with a pipette of Cointreau syrup (all 352 yen). For the grand opening, the store will offer a new flavor, the "Matcha Cake" (324 yen), made with matcha, a uniquely Japanese green tea. Additionally, the adjacent Fred Segal food truck will be serving casual West Coast-inspired food for a limited time. At the time of opening, the lineup will include a wide variety of items, including specialty hot dogs, shrimp sandwiches, and the classic outdoor treat of s'mores parfaits. All food items can be enjoyed in the eat-in area, on the outdoor terrace, or on the walking path of Log Road Daikanyama.
