The science-based food event "SCIENCE COOKING IN ROCKET" will be held from the 23rd to the 27th of this month at ROCKET (6-9-6 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) in Harajuku, Tokyo. Focusing on the "chemistry" of cooking, the event will feature experimental workshops.
Starting at 6 PM on the 23rd, participants will be able to observe rice being cooked in a transparent pot while listening to rice cooking tips and chemical explanations from the food unit "Gohan Domei," and taste curry prepared by food designer Mokomeshi (Tomoko Ozawa) (participation fee: 2,500 yen). At 4 PM on the 24th, participants will experience the transformation of maple syrup poured onto a snowy mountain of ice cream with HORO Kitchen (participation fee: 2,000 yen). At noon on the 25th, Mokomeshi will return to serve curry, focusing on the heat and aroma of spices (participation fee: 2,000 yen). From 6pm to 9pm on the 26th, PERCH will host an "Ultra Stylish Science Bar!", offering original cocktails. At 7pm on the 27th, Nishi-Ogikubo ramen shop Papa Papa Pain will appear, allowing visitors to try the fizzy pineapple carbonated ramen soup (participation fee: 2,000 yen).
The exhibition will use VISION GLASS, a glass with a simple design that can withstand direct heat, ovens, and freezing, discovered by Mokomeshi in India. Products will also be available for sale during the exhibition.
