Looking through FENDI's archives from 1984, sketches depicting Blitz Kids, New Romantics, workwear, aristocracy, and Japanese style evoke London at the time.
It was a time when British subculture and style were becoming globalized and absorbing influences from around the world. But there was still a certain British elegance and ease, a resonant Roman style that didn't care what others thought. Fendi comes from a background in "utility," and the way the Fendi family dresses is very much about that. When I first met Silvia Fendi, she was wearing a chic, safari-inspired utility suit. That fundamentally shaped my perspective on Fendi: when you wear clothes, there's substance to them, and you can have fun with them.

Practical and luxurious, simple and dramatic, salon and street, city and country. This collection blends tradition and subversion, marrying British style with Roman influences. At the same time, the women who wear these clothes are fundamentally inspired to "do something," not "just be something." Throughout his latest collection, Kim Jones explores wearability, where London nonchalance meets Roman freedom, and "practicality" becomes "statement." Luxury in this context is about clothes and accessories that offer the wearer ample comfort and confidence to express themselves. Fendi's signature duality of practicality and playfulness permeates the collection.

Starting with rigorous tailoring, a feminine sensibility is brought to life by the precision of rich, firm wools, as rounded silhouettes are infused with the refinement of wavy lines. Layered wool coats are loosely tied and belted, elevating the robe. Knitwear appears as a smooth second skin with silk ribbing, or with homespun interventions like Aran knitting and gansey sweaters, in truly British classic styles.

Pragmatic dresses take on a more delicate aesthetic, practical and elegant yet tough. Finishes contrast with the transparency of tulle and organza, prints of Roman statues*, and subversive dot embroidery. Together, shearling and leather demonstrate the craftsmanship of Fendi and take on a unique presence. From lustrous wax finishes to the unique Agriato needle-punching technique and the ultimate intarsia, new fabrications are created to gently protect the wearer while offering satisfaction, tactility and comfort.

Through recurring codes and motifs dating back to the Maison's founding, Fendi's past is brought to life in the present. Ahead of the House's centennial in 2025, "Selleria" connects the present and past, appearing as a motif on clothing and leather goods. Born from the inspiration and creation of Rome's finest saddlers, the Selleria line appears as a pair of leather riding boots that dominate the collection. It also appears on a Chupa Chups® lollipop holder, featuring a Salvador Dalí logo and integrated with the FF logo wrapping, as well as in a design by Delfina Delettrez Fendi, Artistic Director of Jewelry. Metallic thread hardware is sewn onto leather bangles and is echoed in the large leather and metal chains.

In her leather goods collection, Artistic Director of Accessories and Menswear Silvia Fendi deconstructs past styles and reconstructs them with soft structures. Eschewing ornamentation in favor of tactility and practicality, luxurious leathers in rich, natural hues take center stage in the Peekaboo, Baguette and By The Way bags.

Also new is the soft Simply FENDI satchel bag, paired with the new, rounded Roll shopper bag. Wearing multiple pieces to capture their versatility reaffirms that there are many FENDI women, not just one, and encourages women to find themselves in the choices they make and the things they wear.
