Volkswagen authorized dealerships nationwide will be renewing their female staff uniforms starting October 1st of this year. The new uniforms were designed by Yasutoshi Esumi, designer of the women's clothing brand "YASHUTOSHI EZUMI."
Currently, import car dealerships have a unified storefront design tailored to each brand, but uniforms vary by region. Volkswagen Group Japan is the first company to standardize uniforms nationwide.
The new uniforms, created under the theme "EVOLVE STANDARD," are inspired by Volkswagen's iconic Golf model. They incorporate the values of the Golf, which has evolved over more than 40 years, while remaining a constant standard, as well as simple, modern lines.
The uniforms are available in two colors: gray for spring and summer and navy for fall and winter. Both styles are available in two styles: a shirt, jacket, and skirt combination, or a shirt, vest, and pants combination. The simple, minimalist outline resembles the Golf's shape, accented by a blue line on the front reminiscent of the vertical lines on the hood. The blue-based scarf features a graphic adaptation of the Volkswagen logo, and the buttons on the clothing also feature a specially ordered brand logo. Esumi commented, "This is my first time designing a uniform. When designing, I first went to a Volkswagen showroom to do research, and the first thing that inspired me was the Golf. I wanted to express a simple, high-quality, and approachable image based on the on-site opinions of the 12 female sales staff selected from around the country who were part of the project team."
