Gong Cha Japan Co., Ltd. is aiming to increase customer visit frequency and expand Gong Cha's reach to a wider range of customers. Starting June 17, 2020, the company will be selling Gong Cha's first domestic coffee menu at the Granduo Tachikawa store in Tachikawa City, Tokyo, with plans to expand the number of stores selling the menu items in the future.

■ Carefully selected beans tailored to Japanese tastes
We surveyed the taste of coffee menu items at domestic cafes, fast food chains, and convenience stores, and analyzed coffee taste trends in the Japanese market. We quantified the richness and acidity of the coffee to determine the positioning of Gong Cha's coffee menu items. For our "Blend Coffee," we use beans that offer a rich, easy-to-drink flavor with a perfect balance of richness and acidity. For our "Iced Coffee," we selected beans that offer a rich flavor but a refreshing aftertaste.

■We also have "Brown Sugar Milk Cafe au Lait," made with our original brown sugar syrup!
Our coffee menu includes "Blend Coffee," "Iced Coffee," and "Cafe au Lait," as well as "Brown Sugar Milk Cafe au Lait." This menu, made with our original brown sugar syrup, takes advantage of the deep sweetness of brown sugar while providing a refreshing aftertaste. It offers a sweet coffee that is popular in Southeast Asia, proposing a unique way to enjoy coffee at Gong Cha.

■About Gong Cha
One of the world's leading global tea brands
In China, the birthplace of tea, there was an ancient custom of presenting the rarest, highest quality tea to the emperor. This was called "Gong cha," or tribute tea, and was greatly beloved by the emperor. The "Gong cha" brand embodies our desire to allow customers to enjoy the same high-quality tea loved by the Chinese emperor in a casual, modern way.
With this desire in mind, Gong Cha was founded in 2006 in Kaohsiung, a city in southern Taiwan, and currently operates more than 1,100 stores in 17 countries and regions. The first store in Japan opened in Harajuku Omotesando, Tokyo in 2015, and currently there are 66 stores in the Tokyo metropolitan area (1 prefecture and 3 prefectures), as well as Hokkaido, Shizuoka, Aichi, Osaka, Hiroshima, Fukuoka, Kagoshima, and Okinawa prefectures (as of June 17, 2020).

Four Types of Base Tea
Gong Cha has four important types of base tea. We offer menu items such as milk tea based on these four types of tea.

・"Jasmine Green Tea": A green tea with a gorgeous aroma that will leave you feeling elegant
・"Oolong Tea": One of the classic Taiwanese teas, known for its aroma and richness
・"Black Tea": A highly fragrant black tea with a deep flavor
・"Alishan Oolong Tea": A golden-colored oolong tea grown in Alishan, a tea-growing region in Taiwan, with a refreshing yet sweet taste

Each cup is carefully handmade

At Gong Cha, we use carefully selected, high-quality tea leaves, which are carefully brewed in-store. In order to allow our customers to enjoy the true flavor of tea, which has a very delicate aroma and flavor, we change the water temperature and brewing time for each type of tea leaf, providing a cup that is particular about aroma and freshness. In addition, toppings such as tapioca and milk foam are carefully prepared in-store using original recipes.

Customize to your liking

You can choose up to three toppings per cup from the following: tapioca, milk foam, nata de coco, and aloe. You can also customize the sweetness of your drink, the amount of ice, and more to your liking. *Excluding some menu items.
