On June 23rd, Berluti, designed by Haider Ackermann, held its Spring/Summer 2018 men's collection show in the courtyard of the Musée des Numismatics along the Seine in Paris. Items inspired by workwear and sportswear, such as biker jackets, sweatpants, and blousons, stood out, and the tailoring was finished with dropped shoulders, creating a more casual and relaxed atmosphere. The pants were low-waisted, with no belts, and all innerwear tucked into the pants. Stingray leather was used on the inside pockets of the coat, and crocodile leather was used on the pockets and straps of the bag, creating a subtle sense of luxury. As expected of a shoemaker, there was a wide variety of shoes. However, since it was a Spring/Summer collection, simple sandals dominated the show.
Items such as a set-up showcasing exquisite overlapping pale tones, vibrant purple satin pants, or a gold satin suit are directly representative of Haider Ackermann. However, the overall look was a well-balanced fusion of the authentic image of the Berluti Maison and Haider Ackermann's modern taste, making it a collection worthy of being described as "skillful."
