Berluti's Fall/Winter 2017-18 collection, the first collection since Haider Ackermann took over as creative director, was held at the Grand Palais.
Under his predecessor, Alessandro Sartori, the brand's style was more artisanal, but Ackermann's approach has taken a more fashionable approach, successfully breathing new life into the long-established shoemaker.
Subtle variations such as closely spaced double-breasted jackets with buttons, coats with astrakhan collars, and bomber jackets made from a mix of different materials created a sense of fashion. There were also many velvet pieces, and blousons with quilted stitching and jackets with narrow lapels were characteristic of Ackermann's style.
While keeping up with trends with items such as a powder pink satin parka and a khaki military jacket, the collection also showed a wonderful balance with fresh items such as a polka dot satin jacket, making it a fulfilling collection that leaves us excited for the next one.
