Issey Miyake's HaaT collection is here! Includes exclusive items at the Aoyama store.

Jan 5, 2017

HaaT, a brand by ISSEY MIYAKE, will begin delivering its new Spring/Summer 2017 collection on January 6th. The collection's theme is "WOODY FIELD." The collection depicts the rural mountain scenery encountered in Mexico and beautiful, powerful women clad in colorful traditional clothing, using textiles and forms to express the moving scenes and beauty woven by nature and people. The "FLOWER HUIPIL" series includes a top (38,000 yen), a skirt (60,000 yen), a jacket (78,000 yen), a dress (78,000 yen), and a tunic (62,000 yen). The colorful cut jacquard floral textile is inspired by the huipil, a straight-cut blouse that is a traditional Mexican women's garment. "KYO CHIJIMI," which offers a new perspective on "Kyo Chijimi," a fabric woven on a precious loom that is one of a kind in the world, will introduce tops (16,000 yen) and pants (19,000 yen) that are easy to incorporate into everyday wear. The "Cu/Li FLOWER" series, which features glossy floral textiles layered with five-color embroidery inspired by Mexico, will feature a lineup of garment-dyed jacquard fabric items, including a vibrantly colored tunic (62,000 yen) and pants (58,000 yen). There will also be a wide selection of accessories, including necklaces (29,000 yen each) and brooches (16,000 yen) woven using traditional Turkish embroidery techniques, as well as a clutch bag (35,000 yen) with a unique checkered pattern that will catch your eye.

Also, as limited items exclusive to HaaT/AOYAMA, the brand will be releasing the second installment of its Indian-made reproduction series of "ASHA BY MDS," which was released between 1994 and 1997, before the brand was founded. A jacket (230,000 yen) and a dress (300,000 yen) will be released from the "HORIZONTAL SILK PINTUCKING" collection, which features pintucks on silk fabric, a process that requires advanced techniques, and each item is serially numbered. Two bags (39,000 yen each) from the archives of the Indian-made "Tamasha" bag series will also be available, featuring grid-like stitching on fabric for a three-dimensional look.
