ISSEY MIYAKE will release its second collection, "IKKO TANAKA ISSEY MIYAKE," featuring the work of graphic designer Ikko Tanaka, nationwide on February 1st. The first collection for this series was released in February 2016. This time, the collection features two motifs: "Bokugi" (1996) and "Kao" (Face) (1995). To further enhance the appeal of Tanaka's worldview, the brand has used natural materials and expanded the variety of pleated fabrics. The "BOKUGI" series, inspired by "Bokugi," depicts the dripping, flowing, and scratchy traces of ink. The collection includes a 100% linen coat (¥80,000), a dress (¥65,000), and a long vest (¥90,000), as well as a tunic (¥34,000) and sandals (¥40,000). Additionally, portable LED lighting fixtures (large: ¥38,000, medium: ¥35,000, small: ¥32,000) will also be available. The "FACE" series, featuring Tanaka's signature face motif, includes dresses (starting at ¥21,000) in colors reminiscent of the layered kimono colors (kasane no irome) tradition dating back to the Heian period, boots in two patterns (¥80,000 each), shorts (¥17,000), and sandals (¥40,000). The "FACE CLUTCH" clutch bag, available in three sizes (large: ¥26,000, medium: ¥18,000, small: ¥10,000), will also be available.
