The Aoyama store of HaaT, a brand developed by ISSEY MIYAKE, will be reopening on March 3rd.
The space was designed by Tokujin Yoshioka. Yoshioka commented on the concept, "HaaT is a fusion of human craftsmanship and modern technology. It features stone stairs with a texture carved with chisels and floating shelves made of transparent glass and acrylic. The space blends the contrast between organic, unfinished beauty and materials created through industrial processes."
To commemorate the reopening, the shop will be exclusively selling a reproduction series from the 1990s, the origins of HaaT's Indian-made collection. The lineup of items includes a vest (88,000 yen) with hand stitching all over to create a textured look, a jacket (70,000 yen) with a distinctive Indian shape, a voluminous skirt (90,000 yen), and a dress (95,000 yen) made from soft, hand-spun and hand-woven fabric with traditional Indian triangular decorations. Bags designed specifically for this reproduction series, exclusive to the store, will also be released.
