The Yokohama Strawberry Festival 2017 will be held from February 3rd to 12th at the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse Event Plaza.
The Yokohama Strawberry Festival, first held in 2013, will celebrate its fifth anniversary with a record 18 stores gathering in special tents set up within the venue, selling event-exclusive sweets and strawberry-themed goods. Items on offer include "Strawberry Bavarian Cream" (550 yen, tax included), "Love Mont Blanc" (600 yen, tax included), and "Strawberry Mille-feuille" (540 yen, tax included).
In addition, Chiba Prefecture's new variety, "Chibaberry," will be making its first appearance in the annually popular free strawberry sampling. These large strawberries are full of juice, have just the right amount of acidity, and are a vibrant red. Samples of "Tochiotome" and "Fukuharuka" varieties will also be available. Once again, strawberries will be sold directly by strawberry farmers in Yokohama, allowing visitors to enjoy freshly picked strawberries. There will also be strawberry-themed attractions set up at the entrance to the venue for children to enjoy.
