Jean-Paul Hévin's Valentine's Day: A new chocolate collection filled with kisses of love and joy

Jan 11, 2017

From January 14th to February 14th, Jean-Paul Hevin will be selling a new Valentine's Day collection themed around a "French Touch." This time, the chocolates will be presented in gorgeous, playful boxes that express French culture. Ten new bonbons (418 yen each) will also be available. Among them, "Coeur Noir Rouge" is a red, heart-shaped chocolate made with almond and hazelnut praline coated in chocolat noir and a secret flavor of red miso from Mikawa, Aichi Prefecture. "Coeur Les Rouges" is an almond and hazelnut praline coated in chocolat leis with a hint of turmeric. "Kiss from Japon," a bonbon chocolat noir inspired by the Japanese flag, adds a touch of ginger, giving it a subtle spiciness, to hazelnut praline. "Kiss from France," inspired by the French flag, features caramel ganache with bergamot juice and confit added. "Cocorico," decorated with the traditional "Gallic rooster" representing France, is a half-bitter ganache with a rich honey aroma. "Lune," inspired by the moon, is a bonbon au chocolat with a striking sweetness of milk chocolate ganache made with plenty of coconut. Other flavors include "Mode," which combines Costa Rican pineapple with bitter and milk chocolate and is finished with a simple mint blue polka dot pattern, and "Grand Still," which is an orange-flavored half-bitter ganache with ginger and pear compote and decorated with a garden fountain. The new lineup includes "Humor," a shooting star-themed chocolate made with blackcurrant-flavored bitter chocolate ganache, Timut pepper, and grapefruit compote; and "Moulin," a soft raspberry-flavored caramel with Sichuan peppercorns and a red windmill print, symbolizing the terroir. This time, boxes combining these limited-edition chocolates with standard chocolates are available. Available items include "Boîte Chocolat French Kiss" (6 pieces/2,630 yen, 10 pieces/3,675 yen, 16 pieces/6,244 yen, 19 pieces/7,034 yen), featuring a slightly sexy French kiss print, and "Boîte Chocolat Cancan" (9 pieces/4,558 yen, 12 pieces/4,874 yen), featuring dancers gracefully performing the French cancan. Other items available include the "Sac Baguette Pare French Kiss" (1,584 yen), a petite-sized sack with a Valentine's Day limited edition design featuring a French kiss motif, and the "Boîte Mon Amour" (3,700 yen), a tin filled with tiny chocolate pieces called "Perle Chocolat Melange," and an assortment of lip-shaped chocolates.
