Oliver Peoples' masterpiece archive eyewear has been reborn as a 30th anniversary model, limited to 100 pieces

Jun 30, 2017

Oliver Peoples, founded as an eyewear brand in 1987, is celebrating its 30th anniversary. To commemorate this, limited edition models based on two carefully selected models from the brand's archives will be released.

The two models featured are those released in the brand's early days. One is the OP-505, Oliver Peoples' most iconic model, characterized by intricate patterns on the temples and bridge reminiscent of the handiwork of artisans in the 1920s. The other is the MP-2, one of Oliver Peoples' signature models, launched in 1987, characterized by an engraved pattern that runs from the rim to the bridge and temples. Both archive models have been reborn with 18K and white gold metals and soft-colored fronts: the "OP-505 PRECIOUS" (70,000 yen) and "MP-2 PRECIOUS" (70,000 yen). They come in three colors each: DUNE, WASHED TEAL, and WASHED DARK BROWN, for a total of six designs, and each is limited to 100 units in Japan. They will be released in advance at Oliver Peoples directly managed stores from late June, followed by general release in early July.
