I wanted to create a fragrance that was like a liturgy, like the unchanging ritual of grooming. Specifically, I had in mind lions running down the Grands Boulevards of Paris, Baudelaire, Gainsbourg, Dutronc, Bowie's Thin White Duke, Roxy Music, and Warhol. To use a more familiar example, I imagined a ballet of male and female models parading lightly and calmly under brilliant lights. As a teenager, I would spend rainy afternoons meticulously clipping out film reviews from the second-hand bookstores that lined the banks of the Seine. I still remember Catherine Deneuve's blonde hair and translucent skin in "Manon 70," Jane Birkin and Joe D'Alessandro's wild and androgynous beauty in "Je t'aime moi non plus," and the graceful Françoise Hardy in "Masculin Féminin." I treasured the paper cutouts. Each one vividly captures their youth. Their skin is like a veil of powder, their faces turned arrogantly towards the camera. EAU DE CALIFORNIE
The house in Beverly Hills where I lived for 10 years was always filled with the scent of Palo Santo. It reminded me of San Clemente Beach, where I spent my summers, and San Onofre Beach, a famous surf spot, and the smell of Connolly leather from the Rolls-Royce Corniche driving along the Pacific Coast Highway. At Cary Grant's mansion, Gus Van Sant plays acoustic guitar in the sweltering heat of Palm Springs. Time seems to stand still. Outside, tall palm trees sway against a vibrant blue sky. We created a fragrance inspired by music and sun, paying homage to the psychedelic utopia of California. Bergamot, White Orris Butter, Palo Santo Accord, Tree Moss, Patchouli

Musk, reptile leather, and the sparkle of jet-black sequins. A theatrical and musical fragrance with electric accents. A passionate, musical fragrance for those who take center stage.
