If we assume that the next wave of fashion can only emerge from informal venues, then Marcel Burlon is a prime example. Marcelo Burlon's 2015-16 Autumn/Winter collection was presented in the basement of a yet-to-open mall in Piazza della Repubblica, near Milan Central Station. Following his debut collection as a guest designer at Pitti Immagine Uomo in June last year, this marks his second season in Milan, with the show starting at 9 PM, off-schedule during Milan Fashion Week. After the show, the venue was transformed into a massive club, where he himself served as DJ, enlivening the venue and drawing an overwhelming crowd. The collection featured ponchos, T-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, and blankets featuring Marcelo's signature pixelated cross motif and Native American and animal motifs in gothic graphics, blending the functionality of athletic sportswear. The predominant colour was black, with items based on street casual style.

Typical items included Alpha flight jackets, Pendleton jackets and blankets, Solovear boots, and eyewear with Marcolin, a highly talked-about collaboration - a lineup only Marcelo could come up with, with a thorough understanding of the current market.

This season, Marcelo's own roots in Patagonia were strongly featured in the collection, and the opening began with a performance by malambo dancers of Argentine folklore. The show progressed with the brand taking as its model the bank robbers Butch Cassidy and the Wild Bunch, who are said to be the subject of the film Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, and superimposing them as space cowboys themselves.
