New cold-pressed juice menu at Roppongi Elle Cafe

Feb 19, 2015

The Roppongi Hills branch of ELLE cafe will launch three new cold-pressed juice menus on March 1st. "K Cleanse" (920 yen) features two vegetables, kale and mustard greens, both of which bear the initial "K." Rich in water-soluble dietary fiber, it not only regulates the stomach but also helps eliminate excess salt from the body. It also contains a blend of basil, which boosts immunity, pineapple, which breaks down lipids, and chia seeds, which lower cholesterol. "Flash Ginger" (900 yen) is a juice made with ginger and chili peppers that effectively improves metabolism. Drinking it before exercise can help burn fat and promote sweating. Meanwhile, "Honey BB" (900 yen) contains "bee pollen," a compound made by solidifying pollen with enzymes secreted by bees. It is said to be effective in relieving fatigue, providing nutrition and strengthening the body, and as an anti-allergy, and has been blended with Manuka honey, which is said to suppress hay fever.

Cold-pressed juice is made by removing the insoluble dietary fiber called pulp from vegetables and fruits. It can be consumed without damaging the vitamins and enzymes contained in the ingredients, and without putting a strain on the digestive organs. In addition, the water-soluble dietary fiber is said to have a beneficial effect on intestinal regulation.
